Linda Dudley
Professional Artist

Linda sees art as an expression of the world around her and how that affects her emotionally. Catching that fleeting moment in time, whether it is the setting sun or the perching of the pelican upon the rocks, causes her to feel deeply about the world she is observing. She sees the beauty in the simple shapes, shadows and light within the scene that God has formulated. When you view her art she invites you to smell the fish being cleaned or feel the night air on your skin or the sun on your face. If you have experienced this feeling or you have brought up a memory from your past by viewing her work, she feels that she has accomplished her goal of inviting you in.
Linda has always explored art in some form. She remembers as a young child loving to play in the mud and making designs in mud pies. In kindergarten she delighted in the swirling of colors as she finger painted. High school brought her to stage design, year book layout, and art club. She received her Art education degree from the University of Maryland and went on to pursue a teaching career for thirty five years. She taught High school, elementary and early childhood aged children.
While great joy was derived from her teaching career and raising a family it did not leave a lot of time to pursue her own art. When she retired in 2013 she was fast to pick up the paint brush and has been non stop in her pursuit of her art .
Since picking up the paint brush Linda has been exploring the wonders of light upon our beautiful world. She joined The Art League Of Orange County in 2014, Became secretary of the art league in January 2016 - December 2017 and has accepted the roll of Vice President for January 2018 - December 2019.
Although she has only been painting for a few years she has become an award winning artist. In 2013 she received Artist of the month in the Artist Daily site, Dec. 2014 - Martha Fowler award , Feb 2015 3rd place in the Casselberry art House ALOC art show/ judged, AUG. 2016 accepted INTO THE "Art Around The World " show at the Gallery Of Viera, 2nd place in the annual ALOC show.
Linda continues to strive to grow her art through on-line classes, attending professional artist demonstrations, painting daily and membership to various art sites.
One of Linda's favorite quotes is from Edward Hopper " If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint".

The rhythm of the mast, piling and angles of the boat and sidewalk drew me into this painting. The tour boat idle and waiting for tourist to Board for a leisurely ride down the inlet in Taron Springs FL. The seagull patiently waits for possible droppings of delicious Greek desserts that tourists might drop. Tarpon Springs is a large Greek community and their restaurants are something you don't want to miss, especially their desserts. Tarpon springs is the sponge capital of the world and it is my hope that I will soon capture the sponge boats in action.
