Untitled - Red Line 1
Painting: Acrylic on Canvas This is an abstract expressionist/contemporary style acrylic painting with a landscape image. This is painting one in the Red Line series. I used a 1.5 inch gallery wrapped canvas on wood frame and began with a layer of gesso. I used a brayer tool (first time), palette knife, and my hands to apply the acrylic paint. I typically blend the colors on the canvas and there is a process of adding and removing/layering paint to achieve the colors and forms desired. This enabled me to uncover the golden yellow color on the bottom third of the canvas. I also blended in some gloss gel to give the red line a bit of shininess. I was able to achieve some nice texturing using the brayer tool and palette knife. I painted the outer edges black, so it is ready to hang as it is. After finishing the painting, I applied a polycrylic protective finish, which gave the colors a bit of a pop as well. I hope this painting will prove visually interesting and that it imbues a sense of peace. This is an original work. Height 16" x Width 20" x Depth 1.5" Year Produced: 2019 Inventory ID KH_0171 Status: All Galleries Price: $600.00 Narrative: This is an abstract expressionist/contemporary style acrylic painting with a landscape image.
